Position: Safety Captain

Job Description:

•   Assist with Vessel Internal/External Audits, Port and Flag state Inspections.
•   Assist in the maintenance of the Tidewater Safety Management System in Sattahip Office. Ensure that document files/Personnel files on ships are in place and up to date.
•   Provide on board training to all ship crews both on-shore and off-shore which is conducted according to Tidewater Safety Management System, Behavior Based Safety Program and the Clients specific tenets of operational excellence and also assist with the monthly training schedules ashore.
•   Work in conjunction with the Operations Manager, Personnel Manager and Port Engineer to ensure an effective safety culture is in place and adopted by all and also to cooperate with the Port and Assistant Port Engineer to ensure that all contractors on board any of our vessels work in a safe manner.
•   Assist in the maintenance records and reports from the ships monthly.
•   Ensure that a cordial working relationship is continued with clients and hold a full understanding of client safety protocols and procedures and be fully compliant at all times.
•   Attend client safety and quarterly scorecard meetings.
•   On a weekly basis, provide a written report on but not limited to, what vessels have been visited, what areas require additional attention, comment of the general performance of the crew and the condition of the vessel at the time of attendance. Any recommendation, suggestion from the crew for ways to improve.
•   Attend ship's investigation on incident, near-miss and accident occurred.
•   Work with Management to ensure that the developed Safety Culture is well maintained and continuously improved.
•   Any other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor.

Qualification Requirement:
o   Thai Nationality
o   Good Command of English
o   Possess strong knowledge and background experience in Offshore industry; Preference to personnel holding Deck Officers Certificate of Competency
o   Able to work under pressure
o   Flexible and able to work after working hour

The successful applicant will be required to travel to various Ports within Thailand.
